Tim Tam's (March 19)

Not only was it Mexican Monday but it also was Scottish Rachel's birthday. Due to this special occasion Rose and I made her one of the most amazing homemade cakes.
We made, from scratch, a very unique and special choclate devils food cake. We altered the recipe to make it a super chocolatey cake that melts in your mouth.
We made the chocolate cake base and before we cooked it we added Dairy Milk Milk Chocolate and Dairy Milk with Crunchie. The Dairy Milk with crunchie is a combination of Hokey Pokey Honeycomb Pieces mixed with Dairy Milk, milk chocolate. Dairy Milk is the chocolate that you will find everywhere around here if you want chocolate. They have several different flavors and they are all milk chocolate (you can't find a dark chocolate one)

For the toppings of the cake we melted the left over chocolates and added thick cream to make a delicious chocolate frosting. On top of the frosting we crushed up two different flavors of Tim Tam cookies, white chocolate and caramel.
These are amazing tasting cookies that is chocolate or some other cream between two chocolate wafer layers, all covered with milk or dark chocolate. They aren't actually called cookies but rather biscuits or biccie in oz slang. All of their cookies they call biscuits, but they are to die for. Not only do people love eating Tim Tam's but they do this thing with them called the Tim Tam Slam. For the Tim Tam Slam you take a hot beverage (normally coffee, tea, or hot chocolate). You then take your Tim Tam and nibble off opposite corners of the rectangular cookie. One nibbled off corner goes in your drink and the other in your mouth. You begin sucking all of your worth to try and get the liquid. When you do finally get the liquid 'hit' off the Tim Tam you pop the cookie into your mouth and eat it. If you try and keep drinking your drink the wafer will disintegrate into Tim Tam sludge. I have yet to try this little game of theirs but I am not opposed to trying it at all, its just been a little warm for hot drinks.
We sprinkled the crushed Tim Tam's over the frosting and there we had it, we had made one of the best cakes. The whole cake was gone in a matter of seconds after we sang happy birthday and cut it up for everyone.
