Gloomy Day (March 2)

No school on Fridays!! Last night was long night of not much sleep, waking up in a big puddle of water, and pain. I fell asleep with a bag of ice on my hand because of my burn and woke up to the bag having opened and soaking all of the sheets. I stripped my bed through my stuff in the dryer and slept on a towel and was in a lot of pain because of my hand. I woke up to big blisters on my hand. They hurt really bad and looked awful. The burns looked pretty bad so I decided to go to the first aid on campus and have them look at it.
My burn

Doesn't hurt too bad, its just in a very awkward spot

Keeping my fingers crossed they don't burst

Even though it rained through the night it was still raining when I woke up. Normally if it rains at night you wake up and its beautiful, not the case today. Once I got to the first aid I discovered no one was on duty but one of the security guards was kind enough to help me. For burns there’s not much you can do for them. He put a little burn cream on them then said to go to the chemist in the shopping centre. I stayed on for campus for a while and got to Skype my Aunt Shari. I loved chatting with her and seeing Toby!! I then headed to the shopping centre to see the chemist and purchase yet another new umbrella. The chemist was very nice and helpful. She informed me that I do not want to pop the blisters because they keep the burns from getting infected. I guess burns, once exposed, get highly infected very easily so once these burst I have to be very conscious of keeping the burns clean and covered, but for now I’m good. It’s just very awkward because of where the burns are and I can’t bend my fingers that well. Anyways I got some cleaning solution for when they do burst and got a new umbrella. I headed home and did some stuff around the house then went to Tash’s and a group of us were going to watch a movie.
We got a little side tracked because they got their internet to work so we all were super happy about that. Speaking of internet I called the DoDo people today and found out the modems were on back order they just never informed of us this issue. They should be sending out the modem on Monday so hopefully I will have internet this next week. Good news is the internet is really good and fast and it is unlimited. I can not wait. We all cooked dinner and hung out over there for a while. The boys got their hair buzzed, they all look like little boys now. While we were all hanging out I guess we got a noise complaint from someone who doesn’t even live here but just likes to call security all the time on our buildings. The RA was over at the apartment warning us of the complaint when someone threw a rock out the window and broke the glass. It was kind of funny but a little scary at the same time. We were lucky the RA was there because he called security and he also saw that it wasn’t us who broke the window. After that they all went over to Dean’s apartment and I went home and watched a movie.

  1. Those burned fingers look so painful. Hope they heal quickly and don't get infected. I guess you won't let that happen again. That's one reason I don't like electric stoves. We had one once in our first house and never again.Love & Kisses - Grandma Ann

    1. Yes, they hurt pretty bad, but I'm getting used to them now. And yes, I agree after living with this electric stove I will never live with one again if I have the choice. Not only do they cook very differently then the ones I'm used to at home they give you really bad burns
