Today I had to start my school work. I woke up and made myself a mushroom omlete then began to read the articles for the class I had later today. I have realized that even though we barely have class here we have a lot more self-study and work on your own. At home we had a lot of reading but it was structured a lot more differently than here. So although it may seem easier because I barely have classes I think it is going to be a lot harder then I expected it to be because there is so much work you have to do on your own and not procrastinate. That is definitely something I will learn to improve while abroad is not to procrastinate because at home you can kind of get away with it, but I’m not so sure that will work out too well over here.
Anyways while I was doing my reading I threw some laundry in so I could be productive while reading. After finishing my articles I made a trip down to the shopping centre to return my food processor that I thought I could use as a blender and got lufas and workout towels instead. I came home and made my dinner to take with me, finished up my laundry and packed up my stuff to head to class.
This class is the super far class and one of the ones that I have with Natasha. We left with plenty of time and had a nice walk to class. In class I came to find out that my teacher just literally reads her powerpoint to the class and then every once in a while will ask a question or have us talk to one/two people next to us about something she just read off the slide. This was a little disappointing to me because I feel like I don’t need to go to class for someone just to read a powerpoint presentation to me. She didn’t really give much insight and it basically was a powerpoint summary of the article we had to read for the class. After the class was over I headed to the hub where I looked up the status of our internet. I also ate the pasta I made which had mushrooms, veggies, beans, and garlic mixed in the pasta. After finishing my dinner I headed to the gym for my pilates class. This was a little different from home because they just use yoga mats not machines. I don’t know why they call it Pilates they should have just called it an ab class. It was a good ab workout to say the least I hope im sore tomorrow : ) I ran into Rachel, Molly, Joakim, and Benedicte at the class so we all walked home together.
I had peanut butter and butter toast when I got back, chatted with Suzy and saw pictures of her parents, two older brothers and their girlfriends and some of her extended family as well. It was nice to see some of her photos and hear about her family. After that I read some for my classes tomorrow. While reading I learned they are doing construction of some type once again so it will be yet another noisy night. Yay!
