We got down there so early because it gets really crowded super fast and we didn’t want to feel rushed. There were so many interesting looking and dressed people walking the streets and in all the stores and restaurants. After some time at the bar we attempted to meet up with Meghan Murray from Brown Forman because they had a sponsorship booth near Taylor Square. There were so many people and it was so busy and crowded that we were never able to get in touch. We found the booth which looked really fun it was in a private club area that was set up outside.

We all were getting pretty hungry so we walked around to try and find a place to eat. On the intersecting of Crown Street and Oxford Street we found this really good burger place called Healthy Burgers. We ordered our food and ate then hung out for a while because it was raining. (it had been raining pretty much the whole day). Thank god I purchased another umbrella and was wearing my moms raincoat that she traveled around the world in. The food there was mouth-watering, it was so good and it was not too expensive which was a plus.
Great Burger Place
The really cool walls they had inside
My delicious and messy burger (it was called the Mustard Pickled Burger)

It was about 6:30 and I wanted to get out and get a spot so we could see the parade. Minna, Tash, and myself ended up finding a really good spot and by the start of the parade we were against the fence. While waiting for an hour and a half we talked with the guys around us who were really nice and dealt with the on and off again rain. Finally the time came and the parade started! There were so many floats and cars and almost every float had music and a choreographed dance that went along with it. I loved seeing all the different costumes and dances.

We watched for an hour and a half and then decided we wanted to head down town before the parade was over because we didn’t want to have to deal with the huge crowds that would form at the end of the parade. We ended up walking to George Street to meet up with Tim, Tyler, and Lewis at this place called Star Bar. It was right by Town Hall. A little over half way walking there and I realized I had forgotten my umbrella on the fence where we were watching the parade. I just don’t have good luck with umbrellas here. (I will be purchasing my 3rd umbrella here very soon because it is supposed to rain everyday this month). We finally got to Star Bar and met up with the boys and a ton of other people met up with us as well. It ended up being a really fun night, but I’m not so sure I would go back to that bar again. There were a lot of creepy Indian guys who would just start following you around and being all weird. We had a few of them kicked out by security because they wouldn’t stop following us. All in all I would say it was a successful and fun day/night. A great experience and very different from anything that I have seen.
