Low Key Day (February 13)

Today I slept in till almost 10. I am so happy that I have been sleeping so well these past few nights. I hadn’t been on the internet for a while so I decided to head to the shopping centre to update my blog and check my emails and facebook. Its really hard to update my blog because the pictures take FOREVER to upload but im lucky I can come use this free internet. I have been writing to my “blog” everyday in word but because I have to walk down to the Shopping Centre I don’t get to post everyday so thanks for being patient I know you all want to hear about whats going on. I got to skype my parents for a bit which was nice because I haven’t talked with them since I arrived. I gave them a quick update then had to go because I only get 50 mb of internet use. After using up all my 50mb I went over to one of the supermarket stores called Franklins. I got a Brita because the water here tastes so bad and I hadn’t been drinking any water. I thought it was a great investment! I also bought some cleaning supplies for the apartment. When I walked out of the center I discovered it was raining so I walked home in the rain. It was kind of nice that it was raining because then I wasn’t hot it always seems to be a hot walk back from the center. I did some cleaning around the house. I cleaned the kitchen and bathrooms; I vacuumed and made a list of all the missing things we needed restocked in our apartment. It felt so good to have my apartment clean. It gets really dirty because we constantly have the windows open and when  you put the dryer on in the bathroom the lint gets everywhere because the vent is on the outside but im getting used to the differences so its not that bad. After cleaning and other things I went to Natasha’s apartment and we watch Something Borrowed. I then came back and cooked rice with onions and yams and reheated the chicken I had cooked. I also made a salad it was delicious. Last minute I decided I’d join my roommate and others and head down to the city to go to Scubar. We had missed the last train into the city by a minute but thankfully we caught the last bus right before it left. We had to walk quite a bit of ways from the bus stop to Scubar but it was perfect weather out and we were walking on George St. so there are a lot of great shops and things to see. I was so surprised too how crowded it was for a Monday night I would have thought it was a Friday night with how many people were walking around. We arrived at Scubar which is a backpackers bar that has a lot of people our age and found there to be a really long line. We decided to check out another backpackers bar just a block up from Scubar called Sidebar but that one was also full. We ended up at this bar across from Scubar. It was really nice, a lot of work people were in there but there was a also a mix of younger people and they had a dj so it was a lot of fun. They were handing out free lays and they had really good happy hour specials. We ended the night early because we had to catch the last train back home or we would have been stranded but it was a fun last minute night.
