Oatmeal with a little brown sugar and frozen fruit and a cup of tea!
Tash and I headed to the Macquarie shopping centre where we got our phones, went to McDonalds to use the free wifi since we still don’t have internet and then went grocery shopping. We found this really cute little fresh market place where they sell fruits veggies and other random stuff for good prices. I stocked up on lettuce, veggies (green beans, yams, carrots, celery, etc) strawberries, peaches, hummus and bars. Then we went to another grocery store to get lunch meats, salt, pepper, olive oil, balsamic, bags, etc. It was so weird because they have their grocery stores inside their mall. The Macquarie Shopping Centre is a 4 story mall that has a ton of asian food places along with some normal food places but it is mainly asian influence and then a ton of clothing stores, home furnishing stores, and stores that you’d see in the mall. We were so happy to have stocked up on all this great food until we realized we had to carry all the bags back to our place which is about a ten minute walk and is slightly uphill. With it being so humid out lets just say if we do this every week we are going to be so toned and in great shape : ) I couldn’t feel my arms by the time I reached my apartment and I was so hot and sweaty because of all this humidity. I unloaded my groceries grabbed some little snacks for lunch. I set up my phone and then we decided that we wanted to go to the city or a beach. My new baby phone it is so small
We talked with Tashs roommate tyler and him and his friends were going to head to the beach so we went back to the shopping centre to get beach towels. By the time we got back we realized it was to late to go into the city or a beach and the weather was getting crappy (looking like it was going to pour). We hung out in the front of our apartments with Tyler and met Anaelle who is also from France and Lewis who is from England. After a while Tash and I decided to go to the bottle store where we made friends with the guys over there and they showed us what good buys for alcohol were. They also gave us free Jack Daniels hats : ) People love to give us free stuff and discounts here ( I think the key is spark conversation with them and then they are a whole new person. The guy at the bottle shop at first was just completely silence and ignoring us then I went over and just asked him what a good purchase would be and he was like a whole new person)The JD hat we got for free at the bottle shop
We decide that we still wanted to go to the city so we got ready and took the train right in front of the Macquarie shopping centre to down town. The train dropped us right off past the Harbour bridge and we had a great view of the water the opera house and the bridge. After getting some pics we walked down George Street which is the main street down there and we tried finding a place to grab dinner. We ended up at this cute little bar where there was a guy playing guitar and singing. He has such an amazing voice I could have stayed there all night. After having a typical Australian meal of wedges with sour cream and sweet chili sauce we headed to a bar that had a roof top and a DJ. We were there the rest of the night dancing and meeting some more people who lived in our apartment complex. Once it reached 1 we decided to head back so we caught a bus (we had perfect timing thank god right as we got to the bus stop the bus had just pulled up) it was about a 40 minute bus ride back. We were sitting in the back and I realized there was an asian sitting next to me who had fallen asleep and I said to our friends I hope he didn’t miss his stop and then our friend Lewis went over and woke him up to ask him and it ended up that he did miss his stop by a lot so we had him get off at our stop where we hauled down a taxi for him since there were no more buses running for the night. After that I came back and fell asleep right away. Tash was really excited
